Sages Cottage Farm and Cafe
85 Sages Rd - This shingle and slab hut, situated on thirty-three acres, was occupied by the Sage family from 1853 to 1962. The farm is a working illustration of pastoral life. The cottage is used as a restaurant. (open Friday and Saturday 10am-3pm). It is furnished in keeping with the period and has some items of interest from the Sage family. The childrens farm is different to other children's farms in that it offers therapeutic programs, including Animal Assisted Therapy, to children who have been exposed to family violence, abuse or neglect. At the farm they can develop trusting relationships in a safe environment. They can learn how to care for animals and undersatnd how they are feeling and undertake tasks that require responsibility and problem solving skills. For more information see Sage Cottage -
